Default Graphical questions

Alright. I think I wanna get back into GW after so long. Maxed it out, everything looks great. Though I hear now, you can use Texmod to put in even better(and since my System runs this maxed out, 16xaa, and whatnot, I figured why not use all that extra FPS for something)?

So I downloaded K-Mod, put it in my GW folder(With GW.exe, and Gw.dat), and turned the stupid sounds off, other one is set to 1, and used the -image command. I can't quite tell the difference personally, but I'm sure it's there.(Not sure if I did something wrong, though')

Then I saw a High Resolution mod for Henchmen, so I got that, and ran it with Texmod. I get the D'oh error, unless I disable NOD32(That's a pain really, it keeps me so safe.), and if I understand it correctly, you have to run it EVERYTIME for the new textures? I was hoping it would kinda just replace the one in the .dat and I could run it like normally after I ran it with texmod. Any solution? Thanks.

Any other graphics enhancements? Not like UI, or different colored weapons and whatnot.(I saw the wiki entry), but anything that improves the general graphics. Maybe High-resolution weapons, armor, and scenery? Maybe even Super-Definition?(As some games have.) Anything to pre-render farther into the distance, so I don't see textures "Popping in and out"? It breaks immersion.

I was also hoping for a super-high resolution texture mods, so that the scenery could look just that much more beautiful.

I know I'm asking alot, but I'm just wondering if any of those exist, cause they'd really breath some fresh air in for me. GW's graphics still hold up amazingly in my opinion, but some little things here and there...(Man, I wish they had Bump-mapping, to much to ask really, but Armor could look alot sweeter.)

Thank you for any help offered.

Don't know about your other questions, but what that mod does, is increase the quality of other people's armor. Normally, their armor would show up uglied-down in town, to save processor power. So you wouldn't see any increase in the graphics per se, only when viewing other people in town.

Oh yeah, I had forgot it did that, I remember I was so annoyed with it, but never saw this fix back then. Now if only they could fix the popping textures, that's my biggest want / need, but it probably won't happen.

About nod32...
If you have to disable it to run Texmod,
I recommend immediately reactivating it once Guild Wars is running (it won't trigger again unless you restart Texmod).

Unfortunately, I think editing the .dat is against the ToS.
Texmod alters the textures without modifying Guild Wars files, so Anet don't particularly mind people using it.

One thing I'll suggest is that you try making your own Texmods.
You can enhance the appearance of armours yourself, although it does require a little practice and some image editing software.
With a little time and effort you could even create custom armor for yourself (or even for your heroes and henchmen!).

Here's an example to show you what I mean.
^The creator of that thread is offering a service to increase the quality of an armour set's appearance,
and further in the thread he even shows some of his own custom armor.

As a random question what was the name of the mod you used to increase the quality of the henchmen?

I'm not sure if kronos is still offering that service, but I'll happily do it for you if you send me the files.

I found it on the Guild Wars wiki, it was like Henchmen_Armor.tfp or so.

Really, I have to do it everytime? Feels like such a pain...

Also, I don't really want to make my own stuff. I love the stuff already in the game, I just wanted higher-resolution stuff. No offense to the modders, but most of the custom stuff I saw on the wiki is just awful or only suited to their personal taste.

Equipment.

Also, high-res pets are supposed to be made, so you should look forward to that. I just wish there was High-res / Super definition content for everything, like textures and weapons.
